Here is my final piece in this year-long painting project! It has been so rewarding to be more committed to my work, and with the help of patrons, to use the proceeds of my art sales to do something good in our world that so desperately needs us. My heart breaks everyday for all of the people and animals recovering from the hurricanes, earthquakes and wildfires that have most recently devastated the U.S., Mexico and the Caribbean. I am heartened by people helping people, and protesting the injustices of white supremacy and regressive politics in our world. The struggle for me in this time has been holding all the darkness and the light - being able to be with what is. I am reminded of the Hazrat Inayat Khan quote, "God breaks the heart again and again and again until it stays open.”
I plan to continue the Offering Project in the new year in some other form that has yet to be revealed to me. I want to continue to create art within a context of giving 100% of the proceeds to charity. Thank you to everyone who has followed along, and to those who purchased and donated to the cause of their choice. I am in the process of making a card set of this project, for which the proceeds will also be donated. I will let you know when they become available.
